Any Color You Like

... As long as it's black. No, I haven't forgetten Goren's black (brownish black, I should say) leather folder. This folder is practically a part of him. You can see him carrying it under his arm or holding in his hand all the time as he takes his folder wherever he goes. He usually writes notes while examining/searching the crimes scenes, talking to the witnesses or the relatives/friends of the victims and interrogating the suspects. Btw, according to Dempster Shafer Theory, in other words the possibility theory; the likelihood of putting the end of the pen you are holding, in your mouth is substantially higher than the likelihood of biting off the folder you are carrying?! Though I believe in love at first bite, as long as the probability ratios confirm this deduction and its validity factor doesn't alter. Yay! I still wanna be Goren's blue pen:)

Famous Blue Pen

Robert Goren and his blue pen. Since the first season of LOCI, I just can't remember how many times I wished I was that blue pen though I have never seen him holding the pen with the tip in his mouth:) And after all these years nothing has changed, I still wanna be his pen. In btw, I love you and your songs very much Mr. Leonard Cohen and I I hope you forgive me because I've changed your Famous Blue Raincoat lyrics a bit. Sincerely, Derin.

'... It's four in the morning, the end of october
I'm writing you now just to see if you're better
New York is cold, but I like where I'm living
Because you're here
Ah, the last time I watched you
You looked so much sadder

But wiser and once again
Your famous blue pen was in your hand
And what can I tell you Bobby, my killer
What can I possibly say?
I guess that I love you, I guess I want you...'

Infinite Universe Theorem

The Infinite Monkey Theorem states a monkey hitting keys at random on a typewriter keyboard for an infinite amount of time will almost surely type a given text, such as the complete works of William Shakespeare. Referring to this, I've improved my own theory though the world is not yet ready:) Time, Martin Heidegger argues, (aside from his involvement in Nazi politics he's one of the greatest philosophers of all time) should not be regarded as three dimensional (past, present, future) but as four dimensional; the fourth dimension is the presencing which brings them together and holds them apart, though time is the fourth dimension in Relativity Theory. Simply, I exist as a here (Da-Sein) and it's by virtue of my being a here that there can be a there. Well actually it's a lot like confirming the theory of parallel universes as the theory itself best fits my cosmology rather than time travel (Being able to travel faster than the speed of light?! Come on!) And I do believe that world's biggest scientific experiment taking place in CERN will give us the answers at least the clues on that theory. You may wonder by now, what have these got to do with our detective. Imagine a cosmos containing multiple parallel universes, each with its own laws of physics but also with its own version of Robert Goren, wouldn't it be nice? What a promising universe! Robert Goren for everyone. And yesterday I imagined how I would react if Bobby finally popped the question in one of those universes:) As they say, the art of writing is the art of discovering what you believe.

So are we gonna live happily ever after?

Now you don't remember the question?!

Fine! Wrong universe. The next please.

More Bobby Dancing

Where's my mind? Well, better late than ever, I have to say I certainly support the campaign for more Bobby dancing on USA Network Forums. Each and every time he dances, he leaves me totally breathless. With a smile on his face, he's absolutely amazing on the dance floor. In btw, the episodes in which we can see our detective dancing are; Jones (S01E05), Legion (S02E18), Unrequited (S03E12), Pas De Deux (S03E13) and Prisoner (S05E03).

Deep Blue

You may have heard of Deep Blue, a chess playing computer developed by IBM in 1996 which became the first machine to win a chess game against a reigning world champion Garry Kasparov under regular time controls. However, Kasparov won three games and drew two of the following games, beating Deep Blue by a score of 4–2, the match concluded on February 17, 1996 as Deep Blue's victory. In addition to this; in the history of artificial intelligence there's a process called Turing Test described by Alan Turing in 1950; a proposal for a test of a machine's ability to demonstrate intelligence. Some of the researchers in the artificial intelligence claim that Deep Blue has passed the Turing Test though the proviso here is that Deep Blue can pass the Turing Test only while playing chess:) Here by as a combination of the informations gathered; I've developed an inventory named Goren Deep Blue Test that can be construed as a general test of resistance:) The subject matter is; with the almost universal acceptance of Goren's seductiveness, there seems no ground for resisting him especially when he wears blue. (Honestly whenever I see him in blue, always the same question comes to my mind: Could he be any more beautiful?) And here is a sample below from the test for you to grasp the underlying idea. In order to assess your threshold, please look at the illustration below and then check your blood pressure and pulse rate:) Just like in the practical applications of cognitive-behavioral therapy, the procedure is systematic and simple. In the next stage you will be exposed to more illustrations; so on... And a warning before you start: Realizing the fact that our test target is beyond our reach; feeling blue in the end is inevitable:)

Beauty Out Of The Blue

A Streetcop Named Desire

First and foremost; all the dedicated police officers of NYC who are really working hard to keep the streets safe please don't take offense as I don't wanna hurt any of you. But honestly what are the odds to meet a police like Robert Goren while wandering the streets of NYC? A couple of days ago while watching LOCI as one of my daily routines, I've noticed that Bobby looks amazing on the street. Yes I know, I know; beauty is in the eye of the beholder or beauty inside is what counts the most... Believe in peace, love people, save pandas! OK, allright! But no matter what you say Bobby is astonishingly beautiful. Whether you agree or not, he looks gorgeous among the crowd without a doubt. And above all he's the most desirable cop ever! Excuse me, what did you say? Bias? Prejudice? Ideefixe? Association fallacy? Halo effect? No, I'm not familiar with these words:) Please check out the link and see it for yourself: Outdoor Bobby In btw, regardless of the topic, this is for my advisor: Dear sir, with all due respect, are you out of your mind? Yes I know I'm way behind my schedule. So what? For God's sake, stop pushing me! By the way take your academic title and...Ah, where were we? Believe in peace, love people, save pandas! So I should better take a break for a while before I break. And mom, this one is for you: Ce homme est merveilleusement beau!

The Unbearable Lightness Of Loving Bobby

I know, I know... Bookworms will hate me but then again here are some memorable quotes from the books I keep reading over and over again; after my finishing touch. Well at least I can say this: No authors were harmed during this attempt:) Here we go:

Oscar Wilde - De Profundis
'... Loving is one very long moment. We cannot divide it by seasons. We can only record its moods, and chronicle their return. With us time itself does not progress. It revolves. It seems to circle round one man and this man is Detective Robert Goren...'

Fyodor Dostoyevski - Notes From Underground
'... What are you giving up here? What are you enslaving? Why, you're enslaving your soul; something you don't really own, together with your body! You're giving your love to someone who doesn't really exist! Love! After all, that's all there is...'

Ayn Rand - Anthem
'... And now I see the face of god, and I raise this god over the earth, this god whom men have sought since men came into being, this god who will grant them joy and peace and pride. This god, this two words: Robert Goren...'

Hunter S. Thompson - Song of the Sausage Creature
'... That is the attitude of the Robert Goren freak, and I am one of them. On some days they are about the most fun you can have with your clothes on. I am a slave to it. On my tombstone they will carve, 'It never got enough for her'...'

Chuck Palahnuik - Choke
'... The unreal is more powerful than the real. Because nothing is as perfect as you can imagine it. Because it's only intangible ideas, concepts, beliefs, fantasies that last. Stone crumbles. Wood rots. People, well, they die. But things as fragile as a thought, a dream, a legend, they can go on and on. That's why I love Robert Goren that much and to love like this is to be happy forever..'

Dante Alighieri - The Divine Comedy (Paradiso)
'... Like a wheel in perfect balance turning, I felt my will and my desire impelled by the love of Robert Goren that moves the sun and the other stars...'

Toni Morrison - Song Of Solomon
'... Robert Goren is the third beer. Not the first one, which the throat receives with almost tearful gratitude; nor the second, that confirms and extends the pleasure of the first. But the third, the one you drink because it's there, because it can't hurt, and because what difference does it make? The reason I love Robert Goren unconditionally is the reason I like the third beer...'

Paul Coelho - The Alchemist
'... When you want something, all the world conspires in helping you to achieve it. That's why I don't give up loving Robert Goren and I'm still waiting for my dream come true...'

Joseph Conrad - Heart Of Darkness
'... It is impossible to convey the life-sensation of any given epoch of one's existence--that which makes its truth, its meaning--its subtle and penetrating essence. It is impossible. We live, as we dream-alone. I live, as I dream Robert Goren-alone...'

And the last passage is for a girl who's obsessed with a fiction man rather than a real one:) In btw apologies for the length.

Truman Capote - Breakfast At Tiffany's
'... You know what's wrong with you, Miss Whoever-You-Are? You're chicken. You're afraid to stick out your chin and say, 'Okay, life's a fact.' People DO fall in love. People do belong to each other. Because that's the only chance anybody's got for real happiness. You call yourself a free spirit, a wild thing, yet you're terrified that somebody's gonna put you in a cage. Well, baby, you're already in a cage and you built it yourself. And it's not bound on the east by Somali Land or on the west by Tulip, Texas. It's everywhere you go. Because no matter where you run, you're always going to end up running into yourself...'

A Tribute To Bobby

Goren vs. Rorschach

Rorschach Inkblot Test created by Hermann Rorschach in 1921, is a method of psychological evaluation, most commonly used in forensic/clinical assessment along with MMPI and CPI. While MMPI (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory) and CPI (California Personality Inventory) are both projective tests, Rorschach is a non projective test which is designed to let a person respond to ambiguous stimuli, presumably revealing hidden emotions and internal conflicts. And it's only used by trained professionals to assist in identifying personality structure and psychopathology. Only few psychologists/psychiatrists believe in it as an efficient diagnostic tool but majority still question the validity and the reliability of RIM. Furthermore prior to perform properly, the therapists functioning in the psychoanalysis field usually apply RIM on themselves. I took the test once as a midterm project and I found out that my mental capacity was swinging from Borderline to Bipolar! No, just kidding:) As they say; to be stupid, selfish, and have good health are three requirements for happiness, though if stupidity is lacking, all is lost. Well, I feel healthy and consequently happy which begs the question. So am I?! Whatever:) As we all know, Robert Goren's shoe size is 13. We find out this 'vital' information in the episode Jones (S01E05) in an amusing way. No, I'm not gonna talk about the mythical correlation between a man's shoe size and the size of his brain:) Instead I'm adding here a Youtube video that might be helpful.

If you can't open the vid because of the 'size', please click here to enlarge your vision: Goren's Shoes. And now the picture below makes sense! It also explains exactly what a Freudian Slip is. Please click on the picture for a larger view.

Crazy Nights

I love that song very much! As a matter of fact I like every song composed by old-time hard rock bands. Eeew! Somebody shoot me! God, I'm getting older:) Anyway here is my video. I know, the song is kinda irrelevant but who cares?
